“Hi UKCH… Yesterday I had the privilege of lining the streets today with fellow colleagues from across the UK to pay our respects to PC Keith Palmer. Although a very sad day for us all, it has shown that in our darkest times, Police and members of the public come together to show their support.
I would like to share a heartwarming scene I witnessed today; a young boy, going along the procession of officers lining the street offering a Haribo to each of us. He offered one to every single Police Officer in the line where I was stood, and I can tell you that the gesture was very much appreciated!
Once all the sweets had gone, he ran to his Mum and Dad shouting ‘we need to buy some more for them!’ – a very kind gesture from a young lad who clearly respects his protectors!
I was wondering, through the power of your page, can we somehow identify this young man and send him a thin blue line patch along with a visit from his local bobbies who could show him the flashing lights on their car and maybe a tour of his local nick?”
